  • Hirsh’s Recap-I arrived at the studio around 9pm after driving all the way from Winston-Salem.  Bryce didn’t show up to the studio until around 12:30am so I utilized the downtime to work on some of my new beats.  When he finally arrived, I moved quickly to get him in the booth so we could start tracking.  He didn’t have any full song structures for me so we ended up laying down two verses to two separate tracks.  Staying heavily caffeinated to power through the night, we decided to narrow in on the second joint and Bryce ended up writing a hook on the spot.   While he spent time writing, I worked on the production and despite not finishing the song, we both made good progression.  Bryce ended up crashing around 4am while I stayed up working on the beat till around 6am because I never sleep.
  • Reese’s Recap-Around 10am, I decided to give Bryce a call before heading into the studio.  Our session was scheduled to start at 11:30am, but I knew him and Joey had been working late the night before and figured he’d need a heads up.  After several failed call attempts, I shot him a message, noticed that he was last active on Facebook around 5am, and thought I might need to head in early to get him ready in time for the session.  Thankfully, it didn’t take long at all for him to get back and confirm our 11:30am.  After getting to the studio and loading our 1st session, it was clear that his first song was fully prepared asides from a few lines at the end of his second verse.  After a few adjustments, he was able to get back on track and follow through with that heat.  He didn’t want to record any doubles or adlibs on the second track, so it only took around 15-20 minutes to get it all done.  For his last song, he had already recorded a rough draft so he basically went in the booth, killed the verses, and stacked on vocal layers for about an hour.  After that, his ride was headed out.  I sent him the rough recordings and we wrapped for the day.
